Summary of the Career Fair

An attendee of the Career Fair provided a quick summary of what was discussed in the fair:

I learned a lot from the Virtual Career Fair session that was held from Monday to Thursday last week. I was only able to attend 3 of the 4 days (Monday to Wednesday), but even so I learned a great deal. The fair went over many jobs and how different professions in different fields require you to know and what they really do. The first day included technical professionals, like a tuba player for the military, a pilot, and many others who provided their insight on how they got their job and their journey to that job. The second day was also very interesting, which was primarily people in healthcare (medical professionals). That day, there was a biomedical engineer who builds and flies drones that delivers medical supplies to poorer communities with no doctors or pharmacies in their vicinity. There was also a medical coder and a midwife who helps people with their newborn child. The third day, which was the last day I could attend, consisted of public servant careers. This included a lawyer working for a firm, who explained what he did for his job, a military supervisor, a teacher, and a website/internet designer. The designer had worked for the Miami Dolphins and Buzzfeed and was very successful with his career and gave us helpful tips on how to spread our brand through ads and work of mouth. Although I was not present for the last day, I knew that there was a talk show host and other people with jobs consisting of business and entertainment. I found the entire career fair very interesting. I was able to get some of the emails and phone numbers of some of the people whose careers I found interesting or similar to what I hope to achieve in the future. All in all, it was very informative, helpful, and understandable and I enjoyed my time during the virtual career fair.
